Rio de Janeiro, April 15th 2016 – Registrations are open for the Business Future of the Americas 2016, the main annual conference of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and Caribbean (AACCLA). This year’s edition – whose main topic is the realization of regional economic potential – is going to be held in Rio de Janeiro as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the American Chamber of Commerce of Rio de Janeiro (AmCham Rio), which is hosting and organizing the event. The discussions - open to the public - will take place on May 23rd, at Hotel Sheraton Grand Rio, located in the southern region of the city. From May 24-25, exclusive meetings for AACCLA members will be held.

Twenty years after its creation, BFA stands out as a high quality forum for debate and dialogue among both the public and private sector players in the countries of the region. Representatives of a total of 24 chambers members of AACCLA will be present, in addition to US Chamber of Commerce members, business people from Brazil, United States, and the region. Today, AACCLA represents over 20,000 companies and over 80% of the United States’ investments in Latin America.

“The BFA plays an important role by unifying suggestions from the business sector in Latin America, enabling identification and action to adress challenges, in addition to creating opportunities for new deals and partnerships. This conference in Rio will bring even more visibility to business sector proposals from Brazil and from Rio de Janeiro", said Rafael Sampaio da Motta, president, AmCham Rio.

This year’s edition of the Business Future of the Americas focuses on modernization of regional trade agreements, strategies for diversification of economic base as well as cooperation across the Americas. Sectors such as energy and infrastructure are on the agenda. Recent political and economic changes in countries such as Argentina and Cuba will be addressed as well. Presentations will be conducted in English and Portuguese, with simultaneous translation available.
